Hi i want to get the deleted records (records deleted from recycle bin of sales force).can any one help on this i tried this soql query retrive deleted records but its result showing error:

"SELECT Id, Name,ISDeleted  FROM lead WHERE ISDeleted = true"

Update: As of July 31, 2020, Data Recovery service has been retired and no longer available as a service. So now we don't have any way to get deleted records unless we have some backups.

Data Recovery Retirement

I don't think that's possible without Salesforce support. You need to contact them and they will charge you some amount and maybe then you will get your records back.

As per Salesforce docs

Because of the manual intervention, there is a cost. The cost is relative to the amount of manual work and time needed to perform the recovery. The price for this service is a flat rate of $US 10,000 (Ten Thousand US Dollars) for the one Organization that's being recovered. The work involved actually costs us much more than that, but we pay for a portion of the service.

A Data Recovery is only an option after you have exhausted all other reasonable efforts to recover the data, such as restoring from the recycle bin, reinserting the data from a .CSV backup or querying the API for IsDeleted records. If you mean 'hard' deleted records by saying 'permanently' deleted, then there is no way to recover those data. Those data are actually deleted.

The data can be recovered, only if it is in Recycle Bin.

Recovering hard deleted records is not possible. I am not sure if Salesforce Support will be able to help you in this regard unless you are Premier Support customer.

Hm... It turned out that

[SELECT Id FROM Account ALL ROWS]

works just fine even if you Empty Recycle Bin. There might be a gap of 14 days, when this SOQL become ineffective. I have deleted records only for last 14 days. Maybe coincidence.

However, it is strange, because Querying All Records with a SOQL Statement says that you can query from Recycle Bin. Interesting... Maybe a bug.

    ALL ROWS includes 'soft deletes', aka records in the recycle bin, which still exist as records, just with isDeleted = true. When records are removed from recycle bin after 2 weeks, they are actually deleted, so there is no record for SOQL to return, regardless of the ALL ROWS modifier.

If you have been doing regular scheduled backups of the data you could recreate a record manually, but it would have different values for the system record ids as I don't believe you can insert it via Data Loader with the record id.

Just because a record has been hard deleted, you may still be able to query it via Workbench (make sure you select 'Deleted and archived records: TRUE') or via Data Loader (Export All).

    yes.... i tried in workbench by using isdeleted = true in query i got hard deleted records.but i have one dought from where we are getting those records and we have limit for recycle bin before 15 days we can recover records from recycle same way is there any limit for getting records using query.

    There is a non-scheduled job which takes all hard deleted data and archives it (so it is not query-able anymore, even via Workbench). This job could take place anytime after 15 days from when the record has been hard deleted, so if you have data that isn't in your recycle bin as it's hard deleted but is query-able via workbench, then this indicates that the record was deleted > 15 days ago but has yet to be data-archived via the job. You cannot undelete this hard deleted data but you can query it still.

    I am getting records via workbench but i got last 3 days hard deleted records only before hard deleted records i am not getting i need to know how many days before hard deleted records we can query could you please help on this

    As per my comment, this isn't deterministic because the data archive job Salesforce use isn't run at set times (at least according to Premier Support, when I was on the phone with them). The only thing you know for sure is that records hard deleted will be query-able via workbench for at least 15 days. If a record has been hard deleted and is not query-able via workbench anymore, then you don't know if it was archived on the 16th day or the 45th day.
