Reading CSV file using Visaulforce page

Here is what I'm talking about:

Here is my new .csv updated:

Employee_Name__c,Employee_Status__c
Erich Schulz,Active

David Hudson,InActive

I'm have the following code i'm trying to import the .csv file but it does not looks like its not even going through the loop to display the data in <apex:pageblocktable, so what is happening is that, i browse and select the .csv file and click on upload csv button and does not loop the data and show it in pageblocktable. i have few records as shown below.

Change the \n to \r and you should get the correct number of rows in the contactDataLines variable.

the problem is inside your CSV file Header must contain API names, not labels, change

Employee Name 

to

Employee_Name__c

this is a prediction as you do not show object, API name can be different. I tried this on Contact and custom fields in Contact and works fine.

@Nick Kahn, I tried the exact code you have posted and its working fine with record insertion as Andrei.Z said, if your custom fields look like below:

you can use the Standard field 'Name' (80 chars limit) instead of custom field (Employee_Name__c), then need to change input CSV as Name,Employee_Status__c
