You can do this if you have a handle on the JavaScript code that executes in the opening window. For example, you can instruct the parent window to refresh when it is refocussed. Then when you hit Save (and close) the child window, that will cause the parent window to refocus, and run your refresh. Eg: Bind this onfocus handler on the parent window to make ...

In Lightning, just go ahead and set it up as a normal event on the window object: Controller ({ doInit: function(component, event, helper) { helper.preventLeaving(); }, afterSave: function(component, event, helper) { helper.allowLeaving(); } }) Helper ({ leaveHandler: function(event) { event.returnValue = "...

Because of the service cloud console context it is a best practice to open external pages in the console too, for example in a new sub tab. So you will get no problem concerning cross domain error and hold all important data on the same page, that is, in a console. From the visualforce page you can then control the refresh/close process using a service cloud ...

If you are writing javascript code directly on VF page in you can do something like: Write it in end of your VF page. <script> if({!myObjectReference.myField}) // return true or false, also try {!myObjectReference.myField == true} { dsplayPage(); // or do nothing } else { displayPopup(); // popup logic is in this method } <script> To show ...

The subscriber-customizable version of this feature is called In-App Guidance: From Setup in Lightning Experience, enter In-App Guidance in the Quick Find box, and then select In-App Guidance. Click Add Prompts to open the prompt authoring bar in a new browser tab. Navigate to the app and page where you want to place the prompt, and click Add Prompt. A ...

The only supported way to achieve this is through Visualforce, by overriding the entire page. You can't customise the flow of the standard pages, outside of hacking some JavaScript in the sidebar, but even if you go that route it is highly likely to stop working in Summer 15. One way I've used to achieve similar functionality to that you require is to add a ...

The word "popup" generally means a page opening in new window in front of the current window (see e.g. the Mozilla explanation). It sounds like you want a "modal" instead. You can find a few examples here. If you are after a modal, Jason "tehnerd" Venable writes a good explanation of how you can create one in Visualforce. The VF page: <apex:page ...

We had a similar challenge. When we reassigned a record, we needed to have the new owner receive an email notification AND and mobile notification on their phone (near instantly). Our solution was a Trigger/Flow which would create a Chatter Post on the record on behalf of the user that changed owner, like: @[userName], this lead has just been assigned ...

Setup -> Develop -> Custom Objects Find the object and click on it Click edit next to the page layout of your choice In the page layout editor, click on "mini page layout" There is where you can edit which fields appear on the pop-up If you want the same pop-up on a vf page you have to use the outputField tag for the Lookup field. You can also potentially ...

Here's a different approach altogether to use that requires no code Create a custom formula field called 'Alerts' Add to a section with 1 column - and don't display header on edit or view Use the following formula pattern (done on an Opportunity) The example will display a little red/yellow/green flag plus text whenever either field Foo__c is empty/'TBD' ...

After the lead is inserted via the API you can retrieve the resulting record Id. This is after all the triggers have completed and control has returned to your PHP code. Then in your PHP code you can redirect the user to a new URL that includes the resulting lead ID. The URL will be something like: https://na5.salesforce.com/00Q300000000001 You will ...

If you are creating your users through the setup UI, you can't do this I'm afraid. There's no way to customise those pages and no sidebar to place JavaScript.

You have to create a new Contact in your showPopup() action. In vf page you can display the <apex:inputField wrapping inside <apex:pageBlockTable. Upon saving it will save the new Contact in Salesforce. VF Page <apex:page controller="democlass"> <apex:form > <style type="text/css"> .custPopup{ ...

if you are cool with replacing the edit button functionality to a custom vf pgae then I think we can achieve this. In below example, i have a field leadSource on opportunity. if someone clicks edit on an opportunity and changes value of leadSource, a pop up will come step1: create a page which uses standardController=opportunity. VF PAGE: <apex:page ...

Custom buttons support basic javascript. You can use a prompt box to ask for user's input var methodSelection = prompt("Please enter which method you want to execute. Available options are : 1. MethodA 2. MethodB. Select 1 or 2); if (person != null) { if(methodSelection == '1') var result = sforce.apex.execute("Utilities","Method1",{Id:"{!...

Solution given by @sundus didn't work for me. I found out that this problem is caused by the _zoomAnim, so If you don't need animations while zooming disabling also does the trick. var map = L.map('map', {zoomControl: true,zoom:1,zoomAnimation:false,fadeAnimation:true,markerZoomAnimation:true}).setView([37.784173, -122.401557], 14);

There are a number of minor issues with this code; it's hard to tell exactly which issue is causing your problem. Here's a few items: submit_Request(document.getelementbyid('memNam').value); This isn't right, because it's a Visualforce-managed field, so you probably meant: submit_Request(document.getelementbyid('{!$Component.popup.panel1.panel2.memNam}')....

Google Chrome has stopped supporting Model dialog box More. You will have to replace your model dialog boxes with window.open in order to make it working in goggle chrome. If you want to make inactive your parent window at the time of popup being open , you can use JQuery for that. I have recently made these changes in my project as well. You can open ...

Two things: Simply output <apex:column value="{!incomePeriod__c.Name}" ... /> If this is a lookup to something use: <apex:column value="{!mysObject__c.incomePeriod__r.Name}" ... /> And if you are in a repeat <apex:column value="{!myVar.incomePeriod__r.Name}" ... /> or course replace mysObject and myVar with your values Since I am ...

You could do this with a Home Page Component (narrow) and the Streaming API. Your PushTopic.query would look something like: 'SELECT Id FROM Task WHERE OwnerId = \'' + UserInfo.getUserId() + '\'' Not sure if you want a different lookup field but that's the idea. Whenever your listener picks up an insert, you can kick off whatever popup you want. You ...

It's not best practice to interfer with this salesforce internal markup. Reason is that for all this you risk that salesforce updates might break your code. This caveat emptor expressed I actually like to play with internals and changes in VF/markup where rare in the last years. With focus on lightning they might become even rarer. Your problem could be ...

There is lot of conflict when we use jquery with visual force pages. Often times the popup seems to annony developers. Whenever we invoke a .dialog() menthod on any div that is inside the <apex:form>, it will move the dialog out of the <apex:form> which you never wanted. To fix this, make sure your <apex:form> tag has an ID specified. ...

It will not work exactly like a popup but if a variable is set in a Flow after the Next button is pressed then a VisualForce page can be navigated to and then after the actions on the VisualForce page have been completed a page in the flow can be returned to. In the case where I have done it the page is the next one in the flow rather than the one where it ...

Now it's possible with the latest winter 17 release (Lightning Quick Action): https://releasenotes.docs.salesforce.com/en-us/winter17/release-notes/rn_lightning_component_actions.htm The Lightning Component which you use should implement force:LightningQuickActionWithoutHeader or force:lightningQuickAction

Yes you can implement the complete functionality in custom button. I can think of two solutions as below. You can create an HTML element with different buttons based on your requirement. And then use Salesforce SimpleDialog() to show that element in a popup. Here is a link describing how to use SimpleDialog() in a page. http://blogforce9.blogspot.in/2014/01/...
