Single sign-on (SSO) is a property of access control of multiple related, but independent software systems. With this property a user logs in once and gains access to all systems without being prompted to log in again at each of them.

Access Restricted for API Only Users
I couldn't logout and tried Mary's method, but it didn't work.
So I went to Setup | Management and found my API user and deleted the session. That did work for me.
