The error is explained in the AbstractMethodError documentation

Thrown when an application tries to call an abstract method. Normally, this error is caught by the compiler; this error can only occur at run time if the definition of some class has incompatibly changed since the currently executing method was last compiled.

So the method org.apache.xerces.dom.ElementNSImpl.setUserData is abstract in the version of Xerces you are using but the Fuel SDK code was compiled against a version of Xerces where the method isn't abstract.

So the fix is to get a more up to date version of Xerces in your classpath.
