I have a workflow I am developing as part of a package in the Developer Edition.

This workflow sends out an email alert. Now I am having issues with it. When the package was not name-spaced, the email alert fired correctly.

When I switched to name-spacing the package, the email alert always fails. I am getting an error:

action name not found:

The referenced action does exist with the path produced in the error message.

  • What happens if you clone the email alert? Does the cloned alert work? – Joseph U. Sep 29 '14 at 0:35
  • I did remove it from the flow and try to readd it to the flow. The same error occurred. I don't know if there is any difference between that and cloning. – datasage Sep 29 '14 at 2:44
  • Just wondering if you ever resolved this problem and if so, how? I am having the same issue. – user16910 Feb 5 '15 at 15:33

I wonder if there is just something buggy about that very specific Alert. Rather than removing and re-adding the alert I suggest re-creating the alert (sidestepping any potential weird bug) and then adding the re-created alert to the workflow actions.

  • I attempted that, unfortunately that didn't not work. – datasage Oct 3 '14 at 2:39

<types> <members>object api name.email alert api name</members>
<name>WorkflowAlert</name> </types>

use this to deploy email alert using package.xml
