Prior to deploying EAC in my org,our company had a strict policy of removing inactive contact's email addresses from our database to ensure that we do not send list emails and marketing emails to the bounced email addresses. After investigating any and all Hard Bounce emails and once it is determined that the email is no longer valid it would be removed from SF. We do not remove the contact's name or ect from SF but add the word IN-ACTIVE their last name.
However, with EAC in the picture, I am thinking that I may be removing all the related activities and emails on the inactive contact by removing the email address. Can someone confirm my suspicions that to keep the emails, activities, tasks and ect of the inactivated contact, we need to keep the email address intact? Is there a better way of inactivating the contact person in SF but keep the activity history on the opportunities/account available?
