I'm creating a work flow rule to update a check box field on contacts page layout to true.

Rewards (custom object) is the related list on Accounts It has a custom field called RewardsContact which is look up to contacts object and it fills in contact name.

So when the contact is listed as the RewardsContact then i need a check box field on contacts page layout to be checked.

For this I created a work flow rule and at the criteria i wanted to give "Rewards_Contact__c = contact name "

But i cannot reference the Name field from contact as its a standard field. How to resolve this?

I tried using Process builder unfortunately I cannot Refer the Name (contact Name Standard Field ) in the record update section.

Can i Get some Help on this

  • I thought I answered this already. You need to set Contact.FirstName and Contact.LastName, which after the commit, SFDC will make Contact.Name available to other SOQL/reports/listviews etc – cropredy Feb 14 at 18:39
  • I Tried Rewards_Contact__c=FirstName + LastName as the rule criteria It didn't work out too Did i make any Mistake in the criteria? – Simon Feb 14 at 20:38
  • so Rewards_Contact__c is a text field with a value like Fred Fubar ? and you want to match to Contact.Name which has value Fred Fubar? Please use edit and add a screen shot of the WFR/PB you are trying to build. Also, use edit and define the schema between Rewards__c and Contact. Rewards_contact__c is a look up field to Contact on the Rewards object. and it fills in Contact's Name (standard Contacts Field) For the schema Contact has Look up relation to Rewards Object, Rewards Object also has Look up Relation to Contacts Object. I'm creating a work flow rule and adding a field update to the rule attached is the pic of Rule Criteria [ ][1]
