My company is eyeballing various Salesforce products, and I'm investigating what kind of data cleanup we might have to do to integrate our existing ERP system.

Do any Salesforce products, particularly Service Cloud and Commerce Cloud, deal with product dimensions in any way? This may guide how I normalize product dimensions in our ERP, which I need to do anyway. I've been pushing for using the GS1 standard for our retail products, but some of the raw materials may use other dimensions. (For example, a 2D retail product may have width and height in accordance with GS1, but the roll of paper it's cut from may have width and length.)

  • There are no standard fields in the Product2 object for tracking dimensions, see documentation. Of course you can create custom fields to track the data points you need. – David Cheng Dec 10 '19 at 16:16
