Our SF Org is integrated with Pardot and recently we recieved the update notification

What is the Change?

Currently, if Pardot is configured as master for a field which contains an empty string (for example, a space or tab), and the syncing lead has a value for that field, the empty string will not get overwritten during sync. After this change occurs, these empty strings will be treated as NULL values. This will allow synced fields with non-NULL values to overwrite fields with empty strings.

For example:

Prospect Name = “ “ [tab] Lead Name = John Smith Current Behavior: Prospect Name after sync = “ “ [tab] New Behavior: Prospect Name after sync = John Smith 3

What action do I need to take?

We recommend that you review your Pardot prospects containing data that you do not want overwritten before October 14, 2019, to ensure that the data contained there is configured appropriately. If fields containing empty strings in your Pardot prospects are intentional, replace those empty strings with a value that better reflects what you are attempting to indicate with the empty string (for example, NULL, None, N/A, etc.). This will prevent the data in those fields from being overwritten.

and In our Pardot for most of the prospect fields Sync behaviour was "If Pardot and Salesforce values differ when data sync occurs: Use Salesforce's value" and "If Pardot and Salesforce values differ when data sync occurs: Use Pardot's value" and "If Pardot and Salesforce values differ when data sync occurs: Use the most recently updated record"

Am not sure of where to start and how to ensure that data is not overwritten in prospect fields in pardot after the update.
