I am trying to generate and initiate an email send using Ampscript. I will be based off an initially sent email. I am able to get the email id of the previous send. Is possible to generate the new email send using the email ID of the previous send to identify the email to send?

Is it also possible to pre-append the email body with a piece of text that passed in through an Ampscript value?

I will want to avoid using a TriggeredSend because of the structure of creating the TriggeredSend.

where would this be triggered? on a cloudpage or from another email? – CodeRage Aug 20 at 13:14
  • Are you saying you want an email sent out. Then another email sent that will grab the previous emails information and then inside that email initiate a 3rd email send using information from the first and second emails? – Gortonington Aug 20 at 13:20
  • @CodeRage It will be triggered on a Cloudpage. I have one Cloudpage submitting some values to another Cloudpage. The second Cloudpage is where I am proposing that the email send be initiated with the necessary values passed in. – Adutwum Aug 20 at 13:21
  • @Gortonington I was hoping to pass in the email ID of a previous send into the Cloudpage. The Cloudpage will then initiate a new instance of the email associated the email ID of the previous email. It will then add details like the new name of the recipient into the personalisation tags. – Adutwum Aug 20 at 13:25
  • @Adutwum you will have to use a TriggeredSend for that - but it's your choice whether you will initiate it through AMPscript, SSJS or API – CodeRage Aug 20 at 13:26
