For example, if I drag the standard tabs component into a lightning page, I'm given the option to drag other components in there, whether they are custom or custom (managed).

Is it possible to mimic this ability in a custom component? My specific issue is to create a custom component very similar to the standard tabs component but with the ability to filter the tabs themselves based on record type (rather than having to create multiple lightning pages for each record type). The problem is, I have custom (managed) components that I need to drag into the tab's 'add components here' section.

Any ideas?

  • Not possible at the moment. What you can do is create a Lightning Page template and drag components on to the different sections of a page. For that scenario I think your best solution would be to do it programatically so it renders the tabs based on record type. – Federico Giust Mar 14 at 21:24
