We have special requirement from customer that url parameter is specified like this: "www.example.com,timeoutSec=120", where www.example.com is defined using named credential. We receive following error:

System.CalloutException: The callout couldn't access the endpoint. You might not have the required permissions, or the named credential "EXAMPLE_CREDENTIAL,timeoutSec=120" might not exist. (edited)

Does anyone know some workaround? When replacing "," with "?" we get no exception, but external system does not support query paramaters.

www.example.com,timeoutSec=120 would not be a valid URL anywhere. You're oversimplifying the problem or you've misunderstood their request. – sfdcfox Feb 26 at 16:06
