I have created one workflow rule on a custom object to change record owner to queue.I have selected notify assignee checkbox while assigning record to queue. But I am not receiving any notification email. enter image description here

In queue, I have kept Queue Email and Send Email to members checkbox blank since I have read from post that if both of the fields are blank then all queue members will by default receive notification if record is assigned to queue. enter image description here I have assigned myself as queue member. My email id is valid but I  have not received any notification when record owner is changed to queue.

Please help in this.

  • As I can see you are in Sandbox, can you see if email deliverablity is enabled?Email Administration -> Deliverability->Set Access level to All Email – Pranay Jaiswal Nov 9 '18 at 12:10

Check the deliverability setting of you environment (under email administration in Setup). It needs to be "All" for it to work i believe.

  • It is set to All Email. – Sharmila Nov 9 '18 at 12:05

In the Support Settings (Setup-->Cases-->Support Settings), select the checkbox for Notify Case Owners when Case Ownership Changes, then queue members will receive emails based on the configuration you have mentioned.

  • Issue is not with case ownership. custom object record owner is modified to queue using workflow rule. – Sharmila Nov 9 '18 at 12:40
  • did you check that whether it is working or not? – Santanu Boral Nov 9 '18 at 13:41
  • Issue is not with case ownership. custom object record owner is modified to queue using workflow rule. I even tried to assign record to a user instead of queue still did not receive any email notification. – Sharmila Nov 12 '18 at 7:41

Can you run an email log and see if email was sent or not. Could be the case that it's being filtered my your email provider. Also, to troubleshoot further you should also try "test deliverability" to make sure that Salesforce email can reach your inbox.

  • I have checked email logs. There is no email for today's date. – Sharmila Nov 9 '18 at 12:56
  • I checked test deliver-ability also. I received 32 test emails. But I did not receive emails when record is assigned to queue. I even changed workflow field update to assign it to user for testing purpose, still I did not receive any email. Can anybody help me to get information are we supposed to receive emails if owner is changed using workflow rule. If not what is the purpose of Notify Assignee checkbox in field update. – Sharmila Nov 12 '18 at 9:59
