I have created a custom object and based on some criteria via trigger it gets assigned to the Queue. I expected that when the record owner is set to Queue then queue members should get email notifications. But no user is getting email notification. Below are the things which I have checked, let me know if I am missing something.

  1. Email deliverability is checked and set to all.
  2. Email field on queue is blank and send email to members is not checked. (This has to be checked only when we populate the email field with DL or any email and also want to send emails to members).
  3. Users have valid email id.

Note: I am using custom object not a standard object. Is there anything that I might be missing?


I think, because of point no 2, it is not sending emails.

otherwise, you can create a workflow or process builder to send emails to queue members.

Update based on comments

For cases, in the support settings, Notify Case Owners when Case Ownership Changes checkbox, sends a mail to user/queue irrespective of send email option is checked in the queue configuration.

Here, you are using custom object and there is no such particular settings other than queue setup.

  • For cases, there is a support settings thats handles the emails too, I think notify the new case onwer is the checkbox in the settings. Here we dont have. Thats what Im pressuming. – Santanu Boral Aug 14 '18 at 7:37
