We have a customized version of the path structure in our app that is showing the current status of a process object. To leverage as much as possible of the SLDS we reused as many classes from Salesforce to define the semantics of a path fragment (active, incomplete, dimmed...)
customPath.cmp
<aura:component>
<div class="{!v.process.stepMode ? 'slds-tabs--path dimmed' : 'slds-tabs--path'}" role="application">
<ul class="slds-tabs--path__nav" role="tablist">
<aura:iteration items="{!v.process.steps}" var="step">
<li class="{! 'slds-tabs--path__item ' + step.css + (v.process.stepId == step.id ? ' active' : '')}" role="presentation">
<a onclick="{!c.naviapprovalToSObject}" data-id="{!step.id}" class="slds-tabs--path__link">
<span class="slds-tabs--path__step">
<lightning:icon iconName="utility:check" size="x-small" />
</span>
<span class="slds-tabs--path__title">{!step.label}</span>
</a>
</li>
</aura:iteration>
</ul>
</div>
<a onclick="{!c.naviapprovalToSObject}" data-id="{!v.process.bpiId}" class="top-padded slds-button--brand slds-path__mark-complete slds-no-flex slds-m-left--small slds-path__mark-current">
<lightning:icon variant="bare" class="slds-button__icon slds-button__icon--left" iconName="utility:level_up" size="x-small"/>

But now customers use Themes in their org and the path colors go weird. Active stages get nearly black instead of blue.
I am unsure what to do and I have read about others suffering from that. Do my own 100% would mean not to profit from changes in the SLDS.
Is there documentation on how to handle such situations? Can I just add !important
to my copies of the style or will it be ignored.
