When creating an HTML paste email in marketing cloud I have a problem with the physical mailing address. I pass the email via API with a REST call in which I pass the html in JSON.

In the Preview and Test section, Marketing Cloud returns an error saying that there is no a valid physical mailing address, even if it's present. The problem is in the text version of the email. If in the Edit Content section I click on the text version tab and then go back to the Code View, the problem disappears, but the code doesn't change.

It seems that you are missing the physical mail address inclusion by using personalization. To resolve this please add the code below which will put the address of your business in your email (CAN SPAM LAW)

<table cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0" width="600" ID="Table5" Border=0><tr><td><font face="verdana" size="1" color="#444444">This email was sent by: <b>%%Member_Busname%%</b><br>%%Member_Addr%% %%Member_City%%, %%Member_State%%, %%Member_PostalCode%%, %%Member_Country%%<br><br></font></td></tr></table>

or turn this check off by creating a support ticket. Also you may asked to include the profile center, and the code is

<a href="%%profile_center_url%%" alias="Update Profile">Update Profile</a>

this check can also be turned off by requesting via support ticket

  • In the html code we already wrote this code This email was sent by:<span></span> <br> %%Member_Busname%% <br /> %%Member_Addr%% %%Member_City%%, %%Member_State%%, %%Member_PostalCode%%, %%Member_Country%%. The problem is that even though the code is present, marketing cloud returns the error I spoke about in the question. – A. Federico Dec 12 '17 at 16:46
