I have a process Builder Which updates the owner of all child objects PO,when owner of parent object is update Customer. But I'm getting either of the following errors while doing so:

Error Occurred:

The flow tried to update these records: null. This error occurred: FIELD_FILTER_VALIDATION_EXCEPTION: Value does not exist or does not match filter criteria..

OR

Error Occurred:

The flow tried to update these records: a109000000DWYCVAA5. This error occurred: ALL_OR_NONE_OPERATION_ROLLED_BACK: Record rolled back because not all records were valid and the request was using AllOrNone header

I have checked into PO object , but it does not have any lookup filter on owner field.

Following are the screenshots of process builder: First Screen-Criteria Second Screen-Update Record

  • We have faced the similar issue, Process builder has salesforce limitations as it is not run in Bulkified mode, you will get this kind of errors (like 101 SOQL if you have more than 100 childs), we have turned of the process builder and moved the code to trigger. OR If you are updating Role in other object and Role is blank then also you will get this kind of error. – user7601 Oct 16 '17 at 8:58
  • Can u please share the process builder that u've designed? – Dhananjay Patil Oct 16 '17 at 9:09
  • @Dhananjay , I have added the Screeshots of process builder. – Pankaj Andhale Oct 16 '17 at 9:41
  • @Uday The object is not blank in this case – Pankaj Andhale Oct 16 '17 at 9:41
  • did you look in debug logs to see if validation rules or trigger failures on the child object occurred? – cropredy Oct 16 '17 at 21:37

There is a discrepancies in your Condition You are using PickList field(Contains User Name not ID) and In Action Builder you are trying to update OwnerID(Type:Lookup) with the PickList value(String) which is wrong.

You need to Use Customer Owner Id field or Any other Lookup(User) field in your condition criteria as well as in Field Reference of Update Record.

You can update update the owner only when it gets the id of the user.

Please refer the below link for details:

https://force-base.com/2016/10/02/process-builder-update-child-records-based-on-changes-in-the-parent-record/

Do Let me know if you have any discrepancies.

  • I'm updating it with the ownerId of customer. ie with [CUSTOMER_INFO__c].OwnerId. Maybe it was not visible clearly in screenshots. – Pankaj Andhale Oct 16 '17 at 10:44
