I've inserted Notes via Data Loader. The operation was reported as successful and when I look up individual ids in the front end they show up as Notes with the correct account linked to them. However, when I go to the account screen, there are no notes showing in the Notes and Attachment section.

Is there any other table I need to populate to establish the link?

  • Notes and attachments were split a few releases back. You may need to add the Notes related list to your page layout. – sfdcfox Jun 6 '16 at 16:25
  • Did you find the answer to your question? I've also run into the same issue, but I have not enabled the new Notes feature. Because I haven't enabled the new Notes feature, the only related list for Notes is the standard Notes & Attachments. Still, the Note record is visible with the correct relationship, but when viewing the record it does not show the Note in the related list. – Jay May 17 '17 at 16:29
  • Here is the URL for Notes issue for several orgs in Salesforce. This is a known issue from Salesforce and is Active. If your org is in the lists, then your org is affected. Hope this helps if you still didn't figure this out. success.salesforce.com/issues_view?id=a1p3A0000018B5DQAU – Raj Jul 8 '19 at 15:26

I'm in summer 17 org. So I inserted a Note record in Apex and nothing shows up on the "Notes" Related List and all other settings seems fine.

Created a Note on the UI, and guess what I found - It's not creating a Note record, but instead it created a ContentDocument record (Key-prefix 069: Content Document - ContentDocument)

You will need to data load/query the ContentVersion to get note title and body. Keep in mind there'll be multiple versions for same note so use the latest version.

SELECT Id, Title, ContentDocumentId, VersionNumber, VersionData FROM
ContentVersion WHERE ContentDocumentId = 'YOUR_ID_HERE'
