  • i dont see any fault in the code. can you check if query is returning any results..? – patelkiran3090 May 4 '16 at 10:45
  • Yes, Query is fetching the values. Checked it in query editor – Nagashruthi Chakilam May 4 '16 at 10:48
  • ok so rerender should be id of page block.. this might be problem. – patelkiran3090 May 4 '16 at 10:49

This value:

should be the ID of a page element of a surrounding block not just the field you want to rerender:

<apex:pageblock id="pb">
<apex:actionSupport event="onchange" rerender="pb" />

  • I have added id="selectState" to pageblocksection but still its not working. I have checked the query also by hard coding the value of a country and I am able to see the states in the dropdown. So I think the value of country is not passed into the query. Is there any error in the way I have accessed the value of the country dropdown? – Nagashruthi Chakilam May 5 '16 at 8:28
  • @NagashruthiChakilam The code you have posted looks invalid so its hard to comment accurately: instead of billingcountry='" + selectOption + "' I would have expected billingcountry=:selectOption. Suggest you edit the question to include the exact code you are using. – Keith C May 5 '16 at 8:38
