Nov 14, 2012 at 5:28 comment added Rao i constructed the href url value in the controller and usedthe userinfo.getsessionid() to get the session id and used harcoded values for the serverurl and id of the account. (just to verify if hardcode would work) still no luck :(
Nov 14, 2012 at 4:46 comment added ca_peterson One thing I found is that the session cookie for visualforce domains is a totally different sessionId than normal salesforce. The normal salesforce sid works for the API, but not the visualforce sid. Try using the UserInfo.getSessionId() method from apex to get the "real" api-enabled sid if you aren't already.
Nov 14, 2012 at 0:45 comment added Rao The Serverurl gets passed as : ServerUrl=cs9.salesforce.com and does not include other params :(. For the worst part I hardcoded the values and did a compare it and except for the session ID all I see is no change :( !!!! Conga :(
Nov 13, 2012 at 23:14 comment added Andrew Fawcett Ok, I've updated my answer for you with a workaround, but as per my answer, i do recommend in the meantime you should ask them why their support article does not work. Enjoy! :)

Nov 13, 2012 at 23:05 comment added Andrew Fawcett That is strange, their own support page suggests otherwise, I've even looked at the SF page they link to from approach 1 and it claims that URL's from Partner_Server_URL are usable for making API call backs such as those Conga is doing. You may have to call Conga support on this one.

Nov 13, 2012 at 22:57 comment added Rao Nope it says "Error: Your Salesforce session has expired or the Salesforce API Servers are offline. INVALID SESSION ID or SERVER URL"
Nov 13, 2012 at 22:56 comment added Andrew Fawcett Does Conga complain if you pass c.cs9.visual.force.com? The support article I linked to in my answer suggests this should work?
Nov 13, 2012 at 22:55 comment added Rao No luck still returns "c.cs9.visual.force.com" when I try salesforcebaseurl.toexternalform() I am using a VF page within a VF tab does that matter!!! Is there no way to get the Instance.salesforce.com value :(
