Nov 20, 2022 at 20:24 | comment | added | Mohith Shrivastava | The product like TCRM you will find items that cannot be pulled to source specifically settings and config ( I don't have list of those) so having an org where this can persist is something scratch orgs don't provide.
Nov 20, 2022 at 20:22 | comment | added | Mohith Shrivastava | With scratch orgs you will have to develop a strategy to provide sample data sets. With Developer edition orgs you have capability that these orgs will be persisted so data is not lost for ever. Same with any customization that's done by devs on top of the package for testing purposes it won't be wiped out.
Nov 20, 2022 at 17:10 | comment | added | Robert Sösemann | Mohit, your comment about not using scratch orgs sounds very relevant. Could you please elaborate on that? I am planning a multi developer team to work on a TCRM package and had hoped to use DX and scratch orgs. Could you add a recommended development approach please?

Nov 20, 2022 at 13:44 | comment | added | Mohith Shrivastava | For TCRM I think I would go with developer orgs. In scratch orgs managing data becomes challenging specifically for TCRM use cases.
Nov 20, 2022 at 12:29 | comment | added | Robert Sösemann | And last question to Mohit: Can I solely create TCRM packages in Scratch Orgs and where is that described (Settings, Features)? Or do I need a special TCRM enabled dev org? I was looking on Github for a good repo but couldn't find one.
Nov 20, 2022 at 12:26 | comment | added | Robert Sösemann | Why are you recommending 2GP packages? I didn't find any explanation in the docs that you provided.

Nov 19, 2022 at 18:26 | comment | added | Mohith Shrivastava | @RobertSösemann I added some info on upgrade behavior. It overwrites any customization that's done. Also, no Trailhead module found for the packaging concepts for TCRM yet.

Nov 19, 2022 at 16:16 | comment | added | Robert Sösemann | Mohit another question that you maybe can cover is update behaviour. As an ISV partner packaging a Template. What can I update with my subscribers and what not?
Nov 19, 2022 at 15:02 | comment | added | Robert Sösemann | Great answer Mohit. Is there also some video or Trailhead modules that are related to packaging concepts? If so please add them to your link list.
