Jun 10, 2020 at 13:30 | comment | added | R Roesler | Thanks, @bigassforce. It's also peculiar that it won't accept the 18-char Id.
Jun 9, 2020 at 6:41 | comment | added | Matt and Neil | @RRoesler That's right, the only allowed URL is the Named Credential ID itself, and SF uses that when providing the dance to know what component is being authorized.
Jun 9, 2020 at 2:36 | comment | added | R Roesler | @RobertSösemann At the end of the authentication flow, were you able to redirect to any url other than the NamedCredential? So far, my attempts to use any StartUrl other than that of the NamedCredential has failed.

Jul 10, 2019 at 13:20 | comment | added | Robert Sösemann | @bigassforce It worked but with a few tweaks that you might wanna update in your answer. In the Url 1) OID is not needed 2) AuthProvider DeveloperName instead of id 2) startUrl is very selective. Redirecting to /lightning/n/MyPage showed BAD_START_URL
Jul 10, 2019 at 0:23 | comment | added | DaveS | Brilliant--Thank You! Now I can close my very similar question: salesforce.stackexchange.com/questions/261726/… (To be fair, @RobertSösemann described it better :-)
Jul 9, 2019 at 20:48 | comment | added | Matt and Neil | @RobertSösemann Perhaps send an HTTP request that uses the credential, and check if it succeeds?
Jul 9, 2019 at 19:22 | comment | added | Robert Sösemann | Is there also a way to find out in Apex if such an Authorization has already taken place? I would like to show the user the option to authorize only if it is in in "Pending" mode.
