2019 Moderator Election

I'd like to put myself forward. I've been an active SFSE contributor for about 18 months. SFSE is the place where I feel most at home and I love the community of mutual support and structured knowledge-building here.

I'll quote a few points to illustrate my commitment to the community:

• I've posted over 1,350 answers and sit in the top 10 users by reputation.
• I strive to uphold the standard of quality and signal/noise ratio we cultivate, with >860 helpful flags, >610 edits, and >4,000 votes cast.
• I'm an active flag reviewer (3 gold review-queue badges) but also strive to greet new users with advice and improve questions wherever possible.
• I started the project to create canonical answers about unit tests and wrote much of the resulting content, now under canonical-qa.

I joined this community when it was in beta. The help and mentoring I received here has been essential to advancing my career as a Salesforce Developer/Architect. My desire to "pay it forward" is what has kept me coming back.

• Two years ago I nearly lost my eyesight & still have difficulties; limiting the number of posts I can read/answer. Moderation is something my vision will support.

• Being a moderator is about serving this community and helping it grow. Its the members who do the work of asking and answering along with the primary moderation in the queues.

• Moderators help set a tone and resolve issues. They coordinate with Stack Overflow on your behalf. They advocate for you. I believe its the members who make this forum what it is.

• When advocating for a friendly and welcoming environment, I wrote "snippets" years ago to welcome new members and ask for clarification which I still see members using.

• I've frequently reached out to Salesforce Support and other resources I have as an MVP (Product Owners, etc) on behalf of members to help resolve their issues. I'll continue to do the same.

I have been associated with this community from its beginning .I have had tremendous learning both answering and asking questions on this site .I am committed to success of this site.

It would be truly pleasure to get an opportunity to moderate this site.

Some ideas on how I plan to improve the sites are as below

1. Use MVP Status to reach out to Salesforce Product Managers and Engineers and requesting them to associate with site and provide official responses to difficult questions (In short want to make sure we have large percent of questions answered ) .
2. Flag questions for closure that are not relevant, too broad or does not have proper code snippets (if applicable) .
3. Promote the Site questions and answers on social media (twitter and linkedIn)
4. Encourage Salesforce Evangelists to post their learning in Q&A format on this site. Similarly bring all learnings in Q&A format from other sources (like twitter or dev forums)
5. Surface concerns folks have on the Meta Site so that as a group we can resolve them .
6. Recognize folks contributing on the site and submitting their nominations for Salesforce MVP Program and provide further mentoring
