On Stack Exchange, we believe the core moderators should come from the community, and be elected by the community itself through popular vote. We hold regular elections to determine who these community moderators will be.

Community moderators are accorded the highest level of privilege on our community, and should themselves be exemplars of positive behavior and leaders within the community.

Our general criteria for moderators is as follows:

  • patient and fair
  • leads by example
  • shows respect for their fellow community members in their actions and words
  • open to some light but firm moderation to keep the community on track and resolve (hopefully) uncommon disputes and exceptions

Every election has three phases:

  1. Nomination
  2. Primary
  3. Election

Please participate in the moderator elections by voting, and perhaps even by nominating yourself to be a community moderator!

I'd like to carry on the work I've been doing here on Salesforce StackExchange for the past two years (wow - is it that long!?). While I'm definitely not the most prolific answerer, I have an eye for detail, and enjoy editing posts, defusing comment wars, and generally being a 'human exception hander' here on SF SE.

While it's not essential, I think there's also value to the site in having a salesforce.com (SFDC) staffer on the moderation team. I act as the SF SE champion within SFDC, bringing the concerns of the community to the company, and defending SF SE against those who say "Just go to the Developer Forums" :-)

Hi Team,

I'd love to keep moderating this site, I hope everyone has found the moderation so far to be fair and timely! I appreciate every user on here, and want to thank everyone for the effort they've put in over the last two and a half years to bring us to this point.

Hi,

I would like to nominate myself as the moderator.I have 4.8 yrs of experience in salesforce. I have been active in this community for more than 1 year and now i think i can contribute more by being a moderator.

Thanks

Happy to contribute if extra hands are needed. Matt Lacey and Pat Patterson are the obvious candidates in addition to those from the high-activity list.

Hi,

My name is Regal and I would like to nominate myself.

Why Me?

SFSE is a very good learning resource, & would like to consider me one of the part of its success stories.

Started from Stackoverflow I learned skills of moderation & etiquettes of welcoming users seeking for help. With this experience I've confidence of moderation.

My time zone gives perfect time slot for monitoring site activities.

I spend a min. of 3-4 hrs a day on SFSE and whenever you visit my profile you will see my last activity happened minutes ago.

What will I do as a mod?

The same thing I've always done, but being a moderator my participation will be with more power & enthusiasms. I am a good responder. All spams will be deleted in a blink of eye.

I'll organise posts, fix broken sentences, guide users etc.

I exactly know what to expect.

My Background:

I feel a great happiness to see super talented users contributing the community. I've been working on this platform since 3 yrs. & gone through almost all constructs of SFDC. Also, I do have skills in iOS, Android, Java, HTML5 etc. It will help me in taking decision on keeping questions in scope of SFDC.

Questions are welcomed :)

I'm going to throw my hat in the ring.

I've only been part of the community for 8 months, but over those months I've put in a lot of effort to contribute to the community in a meaningful way and it would be great if I could take that to the next level as part of the moderation team.

I may not be top of the leaderboards for moderation tasks, but considering my short time in the community compared to some of the other members I'd say that my statistics compare favourably.

I take moderation seriously and take great care when going through the review queue to make sure that edits, flags, etc are appropriate before I approve or reject them.

I try my best to guide people on how to improve their questions by asking leading questions in comments, even if I know that ultimately I won't be able to help them due to their question being in an area outside my expertise.

My main weakness is that I don't do enough to guide new users at the moment. We have some great examples of people who do this really well and don't rely on the canned comments when they flag a post. I need to follow in their footsteps and will endeavour to do so in the future.

Nominations are limited to 1200c. I take this seriously and need more; full@pastebin Please read it

I have a focus on guiding new members and having them shape questions that are easier to answer but also more specific to the real issue so that they are easier found by the 100's or 1000's of others who will face the same issue in the future. As a community we should not only be here to help to solve questions, but to guard the accumulated knowledge and solutions represented in the answers given.

Hello guys ,I have deep respect for this community .I have been an active member of this community for nearly 2 years .I would love to contribute my best to this community by being fair and loyal .I promise that i will moderate this community .If you think I have potential to moderate this community please give me an opportunity to prove myself as your moderator.

Having been on the site since its creation, I have a good understanding of the mechanics of the site and what makes a good question, answer, and comment. I also have a solid background in Salesforce and Force.com development to be able to know when an answer is way off or not. As of late, it seems that as our site grows, I'm unable to answer as many questions as I used to to - there's a lot of smart folks on here! I'd still like to contribute, and think moderating would be a good way to do that.

This election is over.
